The Global Green Movement:
Gandhi & The Four Pillars

in Ahmadabad; organized by the Indian Society for Community Education (ISCE), the International School for Public Leadership, and the Manthan Educational Programme Society.
Paper Abstract: Environmental crises facing the human family globally will be briefly
examined, including pollution, global warming, and the impact of
human behavior upon the depletion of critical resources like land, food and water. Developments in the Green Movement will be discussed in this context, noting how the original 4 Pillars were heavily influenced by Gandhian thought. Current activities associated with the Green Movement in the both U.S. and internationally will then be explored, including personal, electoral, direct action and other strategies for change.
